The homeowners dreamed of a larger walk-in shower, so the initial plan called for removing a slim linen cabinet to steal that square footage. Once demolition began, we uncovered hidden load-bearing framing that made eliminating the tower structurally and financially impractical. Enlarging the shower in the original way would have ballooned costs and risked the room’s natural balance.
Our Solution — Reimagine the Tower, Refine the Shower
Instead of forcing an expensive structural change, we pivoted: the linen cabinet became a sleek, floor-to-ceiling built-in with adjustable roll-outs, echoing the vanity’s blond-maple detailing. The shower footprint remained intact, but a fresh layering of pebble mosaic, Japandi slat tile, and glossy neutrals transformed it into a focal spa zone. The result preserves symmetry, protects the budget, and still delivers the open, luxurious feel the clients wanted.
