Several generations were sharing this Adams Avenue home, but the house was not designed to support the way the family lived. The kitchen was narrow and overcrowded, with limited workspace, storage, and room to move comfortably. The bathrooms were extremely small, dated, and difficult for a busy household to share.
Like many families, they had learned to make it work. But “making it work” meant navigating cramped rooms, storing necessities wherever they would fit, and adjusting their daily routines around a home that no longer served them.
This whole-home remodel gave the family more than an updated look. The kitchen became a welcoming, functional gathering space with blue cabinetry, quartz countertops, durable finishes, and room for everyday life to happen more comfortably. A Final Thought from Kimberly
One of the things that stood out to me while putting this month’s newsletter together is how easily we adjust to a home that is not really working for us. We learn to move around the crowded kitchen, find creative places to store things, wait our turn for the bathroom, and accept inconveniences because they have become part of the routine.
The Adams Avenue project is a great reminder that the most meaningful remodels are not always the most glamorous. For this family, the transformation was about creating a home where multiple generations could live together more comfortably and where everyday life could feel easier. That is why so many homeowners say they wish they had done it sooner.
